Funbadges Originals Handmade in the Netherlands

The woggle you

won't want to lose.

Made by hand, with a press and a die-press. Extra thick

cowhide leather through-dyed with strong oils. Soft, flexible and beautiful

enough that you’d rather hold onto it than lose it.

Ordinary woggles. And then ours.

Most woggles are made from thin plastic, braided cord or cheap leather. They break, they lose their shape, and they disappear. Over and over again.

"It is perhaps the most frequently lost object in Scouting. Some parents sew it onto the neckerchief with a few stitches of thread."

We thought: there has to be a better way. So we started making them ourselves. With a press, a die-press and extra thick cowhide leather through-dyed with strong oils. The result is a woggle that feels like something built to last. Soft in the hand, sharp in its finish, and strong enough for everything scouting throws at you. One you'd rather not lose.

Craftsmanship

How we make our woggles

No factory, no production line. Every woggle is made by hand, step by step.

01. Selecting the cowhide

We start with extra thick cowhide leather of EU origin. The leather is through-dyed — not surface-coloured, but dyed all the way through. This means scratches and wear marks blend into the colour, and the woggle still looks good even after years of use. Treated with strong oils for flexibility and water resistance.

02. Cutting with the die-press

With a die-press we cut every woggle to the exact shape: 9×8cm, 4-5mm thick. The die-press delivers a sharp, consistent cut no fraying, no uneven edges. Every woggle is exactly the right size, but the unique character of leather means the exact shape and texture varies slightly per piece. That's not a flaw that's craftsmanship.

03. Pressing & finishing

After cutting, every woggle is hand-pressed to consolidate the ring shape. The edges are finished for a neat, smooth result. The outcome: a woggle that sits comfortably from day one, doesn't cut or chafe, and holds its shape even after dozens of times putting it on and taking it off.

04. Quality check

Every woggle goes through a manual check before shipping. We check the thickness, the cut, the finish. What isn't right doesn't go out. Simple policy because our name is on it.

Material

Why extra thick cowhide?

Not all leather is equal. Most cheap leather woggles are made from split leather (the lower layer of the hide) or PU leather (plastic with a leather-look coating). That feels fine the first month but then it starts to fray, crack and peel.

Our woggles are made from full grain cowhide the top, strongest layer of the hide. Through-dyed, meaning the colour runs through the entire piece of leather, not just on the outside. Treated with strong oils for extra suppleness and weather resistance.
