WHAT ARE WOVEN BADGES?

A woven badge is made on a loom where the threads are literally interwoven with each other. The threads are much thinner than embroidery yarns, making finer details, narrower letters and sharper lines possible.

  • Maximum detail sharpness
    Thin threads = smaller details. Text of 4–6 pt, thin lines and complex logos that would become illegible with embroidery come through crystal clear when woven.
  • Flat and lightweight
    No relief, no raised areas woven badges lie completely flat. Ideal for clothing size and brand labels, patches on thinner textiles or a clean design look.
  • 100% thread coverage
    No background fabric is ever visible through the design. Every millimetre is covered with thread, giving a clean, seamless result.
  • Colourfast and durable
    The colours are woven in they are less likely to fray or fade during washing. Durable for clothing that is washed regularly.

What is the difference between woven and embroidered?
With embroidery, threads are sewn on top of a fabric base giving relief and texture. With weaving, thin threads are interwoven to form the fabric itself. The result is flatter, lighter and more suitable for fine details and small text.
With standard weaving, text of approximately 6-7 mm high is clearly readable. With damask (ultra-fine) you can go down to approx. 4-5 mm. Not sure? Send us your design and we’ll test it for you.
The minimum is 25 pieces per design. At larger quantities the price per piece is lower. We’re happy to provide a custom quote.
Yes, absolutely. We supply woven labels in centre-fold, end-fold and loose-fold finish, optionally with a pulp edge for extra rigidity. Suitable for use as size label, brand label or care label in clothing production.
Yes the colours are woven in and cannot fray or fade. Preferably wash the garment inside-out at a low temperature (30°C) for the best long-term results.

No weaving works with flat colour blocks separated by clear borders. For gradients, photo nuances or colour fades we recommend sublimation or full-colour print. We’re happy to advise on the best technique for your design.
